ROMANCE

Doesn't everybody love a bit of Romance! All my creative life, a common thread has emerged, of hearts, swirls, bright colours and a touch of regal richness. I do seem to like these things, and they work so well in all craft mediums. They lend themselves so well to romance, love and friendship, and the expression of relationships, whether they be for couples, family members or very special friends. The bright colours that bring this theme to life are perfect for teenagers, starting out in their own creative lives, helping them to express themselves in gifts for themselves and for friends.

Although some of the quilts in this theme are not for true beginners, most of the cross-stitches and fabric painting kits are. I have tried to keep the cross-stitches both small and simple, making them easy projects to practice on. All of the cross-stitches are easily made into framed pictures, or can be sewed into bags, cushions and pillows. Once made up, they will make treasured gifts as newcomers to the craft can quickly learn to appreciate the joy of creating gifts invested with time and love. The use of 14 count Aida cloth for many of these designs will also aid in the learning process.

The fabric painting colours are also very bright and cheerful, and the designs make wonderful cushions for all age groups, bringing cheer and brightness to any couch or bedroom. I had a lot of fun making these designs, no holding back on those creative inspirations! They are easy for any age group and also lots of fun for children.

Not all the colours used in this theme are bright. Romance is not only bright and bubbly, but vibrant and deep as well. So as the theme develops and I get to add more to it, the darker, richer shades of fabric will be used as well. The patchwork and quilts in this range so far are certainly more on the bright side, but if they are too bright for you but you like the designs, get the pattern on its own and use slightly darker fabric than what I have used. Just make sure that the shading is right and that the colours are put together by someone who knows what they are doing.

Enjoy the making, giving and teaching of the products in this theme. As with all the themes, the products will continue to evolve and grow, so keep an eye out for changes and new products. Enjoy………..
